DEANNE WATTS HAY

    Deanne Watts Hay graduated from the University of Kansas School of Journalism in 1973 and from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1977. She was a staff member of the Kansas Law Review and was named to two honor societies: Order of the Coif, a law honorary, and Phi Kappa Phi, an interdisciplinary honorary.

    After an internship with the District Attorney of Shawnee County, Kansas, where she handled criminal trials, she went into private practice in 1977. In 1999, she and Stanley R. Parker founded Parker & Hay, LLP. Her practice has primarily focused on the areas of employment discrimination, civil rights and the representation of state and local governments and government officials. She also undertakes some financial institution litigation.

    Ms. Hay is admitted to practice in the state courts of Kansas and Nebraska, as well as the United States District Courts for Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska and the Western District of Missouri; and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.

    She is a member of the Topeka Bar Association, Topeka Women Attorneys Association, Kansas Bar Association, Kansas Women Attorneys Association, Nebraska State Bar Association, and American Bar Association.
